Puzzle on the left, I let my mam borrow to try and keep up her #SpeedPuzzling skills. She wrote all over the box (thanks mam) and then proceeded to share it with my grandma, who somehow accidentally got the pieces mixed up with her own puzzle on the right.
Now both puzzles have just been sitting here waiting for me to find time to sort it out. I have high hopes for this weekend 😅
Today's speed puzzling competition was quite a different experience from last Wednesday. It was definitely a mistake to buy a competition that was in the middle of the day - and a 1000 piece puzzle. I felt very sweaty, exhausted and quite loopy by the end of it.
No idea what my time was, most likely something bit over 2 hours. I also had technical issues and had no video for the last third-ish of the build (which I did not realize until the end) and that might mean I'll be disqualified.
Nevertheless, I hugely enjoyed this puzzle! It's from one of my all time favorite brands Penny Puzzle and a beautiful image. It was a lot of fun putting together all the color charts.

Well... That went quickly! And I mean really quickly for me - this was probably my third best first try ever (I'll have to wait for the official records to make sure).
But more importantly I finished in the top 5! 🎉 This is not something that happens to me. This was a competition where the very top are not allowed to compete in, but there were still plenty of fast people competing. And this was probably the last time I'll reach these height in one of these competitions as I am now also myself too fast to participate in this category. 😅
It did definitely help that this is one of my favorite brands and a very pretty image. And I've noticed that often these competitions where I go in thinking "I'm just doing it for the fun of it" go relatively well. And it is very fun.

I have done speed puzzling as a hobby for a couple of years now and have participated in several live and online competitions over the last year or so.
This weekend the first ever European Jigsaw Puzzle Championship is taking place in Budapest, Hungary. I knew from the getgo that I couldn't go so instead I'm enjoying it as a spectator. Looking forward to cheering on my friends and all the other competitors. I assume I'll experience a huge fomo over the weekend!

I was a Really Big Girl yesterday and managed to get a video published despite feeling awful.
So today is going to be #knitting, #speedpuzzling videos, and excessive amounts of tea. I'll pay for it with extra work later ofc, but it's needed right now.
The last few days was the "crippling depression, avoid everyone and everything and curl up into a ball and cry" phase of my post-social-event cycle, but as you can tell by the fact I'm tooting again the worst has now passed. Phew 🎉
Let's see if I can finish the second sleeve of my #TopperCardigan by the end of the weekend...
