2000 words on #ryoms today, all about rspamd.

That's more like it, whew!

Rspamd has so many symbols that I can't define them in the book. Instead, I need to teach the reader how to find and manage the symbols that they need, how to decide which symbols they can ignore, and how to set local values for symbols important to their environment. Which is MUCH harder to write than a description of the symbols and why each is important, but it will be much less tedious to read.

#SNMPMastery was just over 60,000 words. #RYOMS is now over 68,000 and at least another 10k to go.  Biggest Mastery book yet, because I have no grasp of project scope.

SNMP MIB updated for "Apocalypse Moi."

I wrote the agent for #SNMPMastery, to show anyone could write an agent. But somehow, this stupid thing has become the standard catalog of my work. WTF is *wrong* with me???

I don't think anybody really noticed the most useless SNMP agent in the world, included as an easter egg in #snmpmastery. At least, none of the readers have said anything. So I'm spilling my guts here.

If you have a MIB browser:

Go to https://cdn.mwl.io/snmp/ and grab TWP.mib. Put it in your MIB directory.

Make your terminal at least 89 characters wide.

And then:

$ snmptable -v2c -c megadweeb snmp.mwl.io mwlbooks

I promise, you'll be sorry you did.

Why? I can charge $9.99 for a short ebook, like "DNSSEC Mastery" or "Tarsnap Mastery."

For a book twice the length, like #snmpmastery, I can charge... $9.99.

Amazon imposes a price limit of $9.99 on ebooks. I can go higher, but it halves my payments. So I'd have to jump to $19.99 to make the same.

And after a year of loooong tech books, I could use a couple short wins.

I am sad. The greatest April Fool's prank of my life will fizzle. But the world is not in a place for this laugh. ​
