reading #skybreach back into memory, so I can do an hour each day as I finish up #RYOMS.

Gonna do my damndest to finish both of these before 2024. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpjSv6sBRbk

Short on sleep today, but need to get to work. So, let's see about entering some corrections on #skybreach, tweak the cover for #devotionAndCorrosion, get a story to editor, and set up the all-Patronizer video hangout for December.

Today: mailing lists give away free books. Blog posted. Made some corrections on the first part of #Skybreach, have entire mss in memory so I can write the rest.

Now to head out to "So You Ate Too Much Pie" class at dojo...

That's the mailing list announcement for #prohibitionOrcs sent out, whew!

Now to update my web site to say that if you sign up for my fiction mailing list, you get six free stories.

After THAT, maybe I can make some words on #skybreach? Pretty please?

Oh, and I need some pinnable toots on this account, dang it.

Got the last edits on the last story for #DevotionAndCorrosion to first reader.

Tweaks done on cover for same.

More of #skybreach reread, so I can start writing book 4 Friday.

Weekly writer hangout hangouted, it was good.

Really want to share that cover just to hear everyone go WTF, but I can't, so I think I'll knock off early today. After busting my butt on administrivia for a month, quitting an hour early won't kill me.

rereading the first half of #skybreach, so I can write the second half. And...

...it's actually not that bad?

I'm my own worst critic, of course, but it has feelings and gore and laughter and rockets and wizards and "sponge on a stick" culture shock, and it pretty much holds together?

The dang thing will be half a million words by the time I'm done, but I'm shooting to kickstart in Q3 2023. Provided I get to  and keep at it all winter long.

if #skybreach works, I have followups planned.

One is "1999 as I would have done it," titled "The Doctrine of Eternal Ice."

Because I absolutely love frozen desperation. No, colder than that. Colder. Coooolder...

Rereading the first half of #Skybreach so I can finish it.

Setting is a huge part of this tale. There is more setting than anything I've written, even "Immortal Clay." Yet as I read I keep screaming MOAR SETTING YA DOOFUS! Yes, I know what the crushed asphalt feels like under the hero's bare feet, but which toenails get grass caught beneath them and how does he *feel* about that?

Oh, and there's, like, characters and doomsday and stuff. You know, the usual.

Me: Okay, I get #frozenTalons off to copyedit today, then I can dive back into finishing #skybreach as I work on #omfilesystems. And I'm really looking forward to both of these, which is very nice.

Muse: Cool. Here's how you write a short book covering the first half of Algis Budrys' epic-but-unavailable "Writing to the Point."
