Hello:
This is my account for posting about conlangs and following conlangers.
Luidhrandir is a Sindarin word meaning "Blue wanderer". In other instances I am Bluvaganto, which carries the same meaning in #Esperanto.
I'm also interested in #TokiPona #Lojban #ELEFEN #Kotava #Sindarin #Quenya and many others.

On the doors it does not say: speak friend and enter. This revelation might come as a shock to some. 😜

The changes that Tolkien made between his first ms and the final drawing are not whimsical. All have a logical explanation, like Mória (mutated Vória) => Moria.
There were three intermediate manuscripts of the Doors. I present only the first.

In Gondor Quenya was considered a difficult language, distant, like the land of Valinor, and learned only by a few. Sindarin, on the other hand, was called in Gondor the ‘noble tongue’ and was spoken by many: “Sindarin was an acquired polite language {among Humans} and used by those of more pure Númenórean descent, esp. in Minas Tirith, if they wished to be polite,” wrote Tolkien in Letter n° 347.

"A Elbereth Gilthoniel" written by Tolkien in "The Road Goes Ever On" and in Tengwar Font.

The capital E is not my invention but a variant "e" used sometimes by Elves (according to Tolkien).

I find it convenient to differentiate Capital Tengwar when it is a "historically" correct form in Middle-earth.

The dot over the i are simply a variant in this mode. It helps reading I believe.

Dear #sindarin speaking fediverse

I don't speak Sindarin, but I found myself with an urgent need to know how one would say something like “Say meow and enter”, and some googling¹ and reading of web pages lead me to think it could be something like “Pedo muio a minno”, would it be correct?

Or maybe something like “Say, cat, and enter” would be better, and that, if I'm not mistaken, would be “Pedo muig a minno”?

If I understand correctly they are both neosindarin words, which makes me question Tolkien's priorities, but isn't necessarily an issue for my needs.

Did I get something horribly wrong? Would something else be better?

Thanks!
