Bin gerade auf Instagram über eine Spinnenart gestolpert, die noch viele Rätsel offen lässt: die "Silkhenge spider" - man hat sie nach ihrem kunstvollen Gelege benannt

- man kennt bis jetzt nur ihr Gelege
- und man konnte schon ein paar mal kleine Spinnen daraus schlüpfen sehen, welche immer recht früh gestorben sind, weswegen man bis jetzt nicht auf die erwachsene Art schließen kann
- auch DNA Proben halfen nicht weiter

Amazing #nature! This #silkhenge structure is made by an as yet unidentified Peruvian spider. There's a spire in the center surrounded by a ring of tall posts, and if you look closely, strands of wire, resembling a livestock fence. And whaddya know? It is! Maybe.
