I'm hoping that some #birders on here can help me out.

I spotted what seems to be a male Northern Shoveller in eclipse plumage on my local patch in mid-Dec (in NW England). However, the bill seems unusually orange and the colouring is slightly off. I think it's likely to be a hybrid, but not sure what with. Does anyone have any ideas?

Sorry for the poor quality photos, it was quite far away and it was really quite dark.
