Made two face masks, because I still need them and turned 4 part pieces into one. Somehow one of the facing pieces is shorter than the other so my zipper is a bit wonky. I wasn't able to press the creases out of my neckline slit, so I said fuck it and made it a feature. And then I broke a needle.

Despite those little things, #sewing this dress is a much faster process the second time, even with the variations to the original draft. I'm not bothered by all the chalk marks either. I've only ever made this dress with wax prints. Gotta mark the right side.

I think, with the right music and an early start time, I could finish this dress tomorrow. I won't push myself though. I have all weekend. I wonder if I'll take a break before jumping into the next project? I'm still at 5 out of 33 yards.

Today I began #sewing my #fabricstash for the 30 Meter Fabric Challenge (33 yards because 'Murica). It's about five yards which means I still have 28 more to go.

I'm reusing another pattern I drafted last year. I copied it from a dress I saw on ModCloth. I gave it puffy sleeves and a half circle skirt, even though the original dress had fairly narrow short sleeves, and an A-line skirt. To give my pattern some variation, I'm using narrow short sleeves with cuffs, a gathered skirt and adding a slit to the neckline, so im not sewing the exact same dress twice.

I even caught an error in my pattern that explains why I've only worn it twice. Apparently, when I drafted this dress, I only added half the space I needed for darts. The dress is 2.5 inches smaller than it should be. Well, I fixed that.

I'm hoping to be through with this dress by Tuesday, if I don't lose steam.

Enchanted Rose Costumes on YouTube drops her next big project, which is once again some shade of yellow. I am unsurprised, she loves yellow. Anyway she says something about a 30 meter challenge. (Basically she has to restart it to donthe project, but since it's 1890's, she'll be fine.)

Off to look up what 30 Meter Challenge is and I'm horrified, and intrigued. Basically the point of the challenge is to use 30 meters from your stash before you buy more fabric. I feel like this is for fabric hoarders.

I feel attacked. But also my fabric doesn't fit in my stash closet anymore so...πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

Right, since I'm violently American and don't use meters, if I want to do this challenge, I need to use up 32.8 yards. 33 yards. This would probably help me save some money too, because honestly, I'm never going to sew through my stash, if I keep buying more.

Anyway, I think I can do it.
