Finally finished my jacket.
Pattern is drafted by me.
Made changes to the pattern ( those lines inside).
And cut the pieces out for the second attempt.
But first i have to finish the jacket, which hangs around for weeks now.

[looking for advice - pattern drafting]
I’m working on a coat pattern with a lot of pattern pieces, and I don’t know how to best mark them for later construction (what pieces exist, what is sewn to what).
Right now I’m 1) writing at some seamlines “sewn to [pattern piece]”, and 2) drawing the pieces roughly on a notebook to keep track.
Any tips how to best go about this in a clear way?
Thank you💚
Note: I prefer pencil&paper methods, will unlikely use a computer.
Yesterday i had some time to draft a pattern (per hand😮 rare indeed).
I never made or tried to make my underwear myself, but it always interested me.
I also hardly ever sew with knitted fabric, i always prefer woven fabric (maybe sometimes with a bit of stretch).
So this will be an experiment.
My first try will be a simple slip. I think the front looks good, but i struggled a bit with the lower curve of the back...we will see.
Battery replacement didn't stop the machine from beeping, but it can't stop me from planning ahead - I tried something new and drafted a sweater pattern based on a fleece that fits me perfectly. I hope this works out!

A tip from #PatternDrafting world wherein Jeff's shirt pattern needed altering yesterday: this is the fastest and most accurate way to find the pivot (notch) point on an armscye. Details in the alt text.

In the last days I finished drafting two shirt patterns that I had in progress (yay!), so that I could start a third pattern of a garment that I really want to sew: pants.
I started the pants pattern, and now what does my brain say? “Pause pants! Go back to shirts and sew one!! Here is some fabric from your stash!”
I’ll make some tea. Let’s see what I end up with today :,)

Currently staring at my bodice block and trying to figure out how I want to make it into a shirt pattern. It fits beautifully but also it's a Victorian block, so it's not immediately transferable into the sort of comfortable batch production of making a bunch of shirts... There are shirtwaist drafting guides in the old tomes, but I don't really want to re-fit anything... Hm.
Gaze upon my works! A collar, just pinned on, so I'm very careful with how I'm moving! 😹 Fitting GIFs, holy fuck I never want to draft & fit a tightly fitting sleeve ever again!
Holy shit, it's so close! There's some excess height in the sleeve head, since I made ample room for my pointy shoulder in draft number three... But it's so close!
Next up: A break to maintain the flesh vessel, reducing the shoulder excess, moving the button above the bust, determining wrist length and figuring out the neck! Fitting GIFs.
