So I went and hosted my first booth at a conference for EliteSec, and it was fun. This was for #SecTor2024 and we had some good traffic. Came away with about 50 leads (I wasn't being pushy about scanning badges), but we likely had 2-3x that many visitors based on how much swag we handed out. Overall not too bad.
Being a one man army, I put together an email campaign thanking everyone. I've had 2 calls from booth visitors, and a few people have opened my emails, but not everyone (roughly 35% open rate). Out of the 2 calls, one may have ghosted me and the others are looking for a partnership rather than services. No worries, I'm always up for a discussion, but I'm also not a huge fan as I have yet to have a successful "partnership" with another firm.
I know realistically it will be a few months before I start getting calls from people, but the waiting is the hardest part. Just trying to distract myself and this wonderful space from all the other chaos going on around us. Thanks for reading.
