Is it
"Keep A Cool Tool And You'll Be Nobody's Fool"
or
"Keep A Cool Tool And Don't Be Nobody's Fool" ?

The saying (proverb?) is paired with
"Use It Or Lose It" in some situations, under certain conditions.

I want to check if this is a false memory.

Back in the #90s, I'm sure there was a saying, "Do you accept bottle tops?" as like a kind of joke if you wanted to buy something off someone but couldn't afford it. You'd offer to pay them with bottle tops. Because they're coin-shaped, I suppose.

I've used that line on people before, but I assumed maybe they were too young to understand the reference.

But now even a relative who's older than me was like, "Eh?"

Has this ever been a thing? Or am I just thinking of a joke that was only in #Funfax and wasn't actually a thing anywhere else? Because I feel like I've heard it on TV too. But now I can't find any reference to it anywhere. I've tried variants like "Do you take bottle caps?" but still nothing.

Is anyone else familiar with this phrase?

Friends, what are some quotations or sayings that help you through hard times? Please share in the comments for anyone who might need to hear it. Boosts appreciated.

(Also, attribution is nice when possible, but is not the point)

I’ll start:

“Everything will be alright in the end. If it’s not alright, then it’s not the end.”
- from an episode of Judging Amy, no idea if it’s attributable to anyone prior to that

Saying you'll follow someone to Hell and back is a little odd. Saying that you'll follow someone to Hell means they are a Picard level leader. Saying that you'll follow someone back out of Hell does mean so much, I'll follow anyone OUT of Hell.

Or is it meant to be a qualifier, I would follow them to Hell so long as they plan to come back out again, which kinda undermines the saying. #Picard #Hell #Sayings
