Dal 14 marzo Leone XIV abita nell’“appartamento”, come nella curia romana si designa la residenza papale al terzo piano del palazzo cinquecentesco che incombe su piazza San Pietro. Dopo i dodici anni di Bergoglio trascorsi a Santa Marta, al confine meridionale del Vaticano, Prevost ci ha messo dieci mesi per trasferirsi nelle stanze dove hanno vissuto nove pontefici a partire da Pio X, oltre un secolo fa.

From March 14th, Leo XIV has been living in the “apartment,” as the curia romana designates the papal residence on the third floor of the 16th-century palace overlooking St. Peter’s Square. After the twelve years of Bergoglio spent at Santa Marta, at the southern border of the Vatican, Prevost took ten months to move into the rooms where nine popes have lived since Pius X, over a century ago.
