US EIA forecasts US LNG exports will surge strongly by 2027
The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) anticipates continued growth in US LNG exports, supported by the commissioning and ramp-up of five LNG export projects by the end of 2027 (EIA presentation, 16/04/2026). The current US peak LNG export capacity stands at nearly 140 Mt/year. By 2027, several projects are expected to expand this capacity:

Some of the captured carbon will be used as a feedstock to produce jet fuel and other fuels at a time that the global fuel supply chain is under strain due to the war in Iran.
