This 10-minute presentation demonstrates how much batteries can bring down the cost for day-ahead electricity prices and how the savings is greater the more the electricity grid relies on methane power plants to meet peak demands. #EnergySky

"Almost half of the US data centers planned for this year are expected to be delayed or canceled. One big reason is the shortage of electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear & batteries. They are needed not just for powering AI, but also for building out the grid..." #EconSky #EnergySky

Those energy efficiency rebates come from EmPOWER. EmPOWER has huge benefits! Cutting it basically reduces bills now and guarantees they'll be higher later. Like cutting Social Security or retirement contributions. You can read more about it here: rmi.org/wp-content/u... #energysky #climatesky
Apparently, this particle accelerator can reduce the radioactivity of nuclear fuel waste from 100,000 years to only 300. Well, the cost and energy needed to do that has to be added to the cost for electricity from nuclear plants. #EnergySky www.bgr.com/2134068/nucl...

Italy plans to delay coal power phase out to 2038

Italy is looking to delay the deadline for the phase-out of coal-fired power plants from 2025 to 2038, according to a decree waiting to be converted to a law by the end of April 2026. The country originally pledged to phase out coal-fired generation by the end of 2025 as part of EU climate commitments. The government wants to keep some coal-fired power plants on standby beyond this date in case of emergencies, amid the oil and gas supply crisis linked to the US and Israel's war on Iran.
