#RuleZero is “Protect Life.”

In emergency management, the hierarchy is simple:
*Protect life
*Protect health
*Protect property

Property is just stuff. Health, that’s harder but if the choice is between losing a limb and losing a life, that’s no choice at all.

We are capable of surviving a hell of a lot. But the precondition to that is, well, “surviving.”

To channel Yogi Berra, you can’t live if you’re dead.

Consequently, if I hear about any Rule Zero situation, I do what I can to help.
