For this coming year, I have a couple of resolutions. I don’t usually bother with #NewYearsResolutions, but the times being what they are… 1. Consume only editorially sanctioned media. Everything else should be treated as bullshit. This includes news reports, human interest stories, opinion pieces, product reviews, forecasts – everything. If there is no accountable editor whose office may be set fire to, the text is not worth reading, the video is not worth watching, the product is not worth even cursory consideration. 2. Take the time to ask more questions. How do you know what you claim? Can you lead me through your reasoning? How has what you claim affected the real world? Do you understand the consequences of what you’re saying? Why have you taken this belief on board, when you cannot defend it from your own reasoning and/ or experience? #NewYear2026 #NewYearResolution #NewYear
