Anybody remember these? They were my grandfather's favorite, and mine too.

Believe it or not, they are still being produced...in Cape Verde, of all places...and can be ordered from www.famousfoods.com .

Having received eleven more boxes from www.famousfoods.com (the New England-based website that I've nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize), I put both of these bad boys into the Octagon for mortal combat.

The winner: Royal Lunch by a whisker. But both taste great and both taste like the Royal Lunch Milk Crackers of the 1970s. A win-win for all mankind.

I am now ready for the zombie apocalypse. Sure hope they bring milk.

You can, and should, buy these milk crackers at www.famousfoods.com

Royal Lunch Milk Crackers were my grandfather's favorite snack.

Nabisco stopped making them forever ago and sold the rights to a private group that now makes them in Cape Verde (FFS!).

This Heritage Mills brand is supposed to be the next best thing, so I shelled out $12 for a box on Amazon.

They pretty much taste like Royal Lunch. A bit less sweet, but I won't split hairs.

I'm just glad that somebody is still making them at all.
