“It is not our job to remain whole.

We came to lose our leaves

Like the trees, and be born again,

Drawing up from the great roots.”

Last night, as I was sleeping,
I dreamt—marvelous error!—
that I had a beehive
here inside my heart.
And the golden bees
were making white combs
and sweet honey
from my old failures.

LOVE POEM

When we are in #love, we love the grass,
And the barns, and the lightpoles,
And the small mainstreets abandoned all night.

If you like to read any of the following authors I’d be happy to follow you…

#JamesHillman
#RobertBly
#LizGreene
#RobertJohnson (the psychologist, but the bluesman was cool too)
#JosephCampbell
#ThomasMoore
#CarlJung

Mostly men there, sorry. I just learned about Ginette Paris but any recommendations of other woman authors exploring similar themes would be welcome and appreciated.

I’m all in for #fairy tales, #myth, #ancient gods right now. I’m not sure why but a deep hunger for mystery, for otherness. Maybe it’s because our world is so violent, so tragic with hate and destruction. But I don’t know. Has it ever not been this way? Yet something in my chest points longingly down a misty, forested road and says urgently “go there.” I read once from somewhere, can’t remember if it was #josephcampbell or #robertbly who called for a return to the “oak stage of religion.”
