My #reMarkable wouldn’t charge today. I tried to unplug and re-plug it several times and I tried a different cable too. No dice.

The other day I accidently dropped it while it was charging and since then there’s a crack in the case near the Micro USB port, so I naturally thought there must be a loose contact now. Maybe I could fix this myself?

I already had removed the screws when I thought: Wait! I didn’t check the power supply! Yeah, that was the problem. 🤦

@terrigarland I agree with previous replies, but I would also add that having a totally distraction-free device is a huge plus. No notifications from chats, e-mails, FaceTime or 'oh I just have to check this one video on YouTube really quickly'...

Also great writing experience, annotations work well, so does transferring to laptop/iPad/phone through the app.

I was an early adopter and still have my #rM1, and it still isn't full!

@Jummit @karenshancock the #reMarkable can run custom software, but options vary: your #rm1 can run Parabola-rm ( http://www.davisr.me/projects/parabola-rm/ ) but the #rm2 requires a proprietary binary to update the screen, so it only has mods/hacks (which the rm1 can also run).

For hacks/mods, Toltec ( https://toltec-dev.org/ ) is probably your one-stop shop but there's also RCU's software installer (RCU does a whole lot of stuff, like backing up/restoring your RM,flashing it,screenshotting, wallpaper, etc).

Parabola-rM

Question for fellow #reMarkable users: After the last beta update (v3.2.0.1514) writing on my #rM has become noticeably more laggy, as in it takes a moment longer for the letters to appear. Anyone else experiencing this?

Now, I'm still on my trusty #rM1 and don't expect it to run as fast as the newer version. But writing was fine until recently. Now it's like... the writing equivalent of uncanny valley.
