Can you REVIVE the failed shooter XDefiant? Mark Rubin, the ex‑lead, says it's theoretically possible 🤷
Rubin claims that firing up the servers would boil down to one thing, Ubisoft's will, yet the publisher is focused on other major launches. Closed in 2025, the project collapsed from lack of post‑launch content despite a loyal playerbase, so a comeback looks unlikely under the current release roadmap.
Time to reviving old laptop again!
This laptop is pre-installed Windows 7 and released in 2011, it's also considered an entry level laptop at that time, and it's somewhat holy laggy and unusable for modern things..
But what's totally knocked out technicians mind are.. Linux! And heck yeah, this is the third time I doing this...
The first time, I use Porteus KDE and the app is hella limited and confusing, the app store or documentation are incredibly hidden..
The second time, I tried to install some media server OS, I tried something like UmbrelOS and Yunohost, but I don't really need it, I'm just using something like Syncthing, and installed the self-hosting apps is kinda a struggle, but I guess?
And now I'm trying to install Arch with i3 as recommended by ChatGPT, and it turns out to have better performance and decent power to browsing, but installing apps is kinda slow, so I use Garuda Linux to max it out, and it's incredible. I get a lot of built-in useful apps, nice GUI tools to max the powers, especially the built-in settings like the touchpad (I can tap simpler, the two finger click and scrolls are working). Maybe sometimes, using apps like WhatsApp Web is incredibly slow, not very good for multi-tasking..
If I just have a new battery for the laptop (Right now it should be charged always), I would be using this as a daily driver, turns out I become an patient extremists-
