I've watched The Wizard of Oz 2x in the past 2 yrs. The movie is a celebration of killing evil people (Wicked Witches of East & West).
It bears repeating that many of us were groomed to cheer the destruction of evil. It should be no surprise when we do, and we should not let a distorted sense propriety hold us back.

Please support the "No Palaces Act," which prevents future presidents from recklessly destroying historic sites. Introduced by Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, this legislation would require National Capital Planning Commission review "before initiating any demolition activities." The bill, if passed, would also require congressional approval for privately-funded White House construction projects.
Although a veto-proof vote would be optimal, at a minimum I believe this bill needs to come before both chambers for a roll call vote before next fall. Voters do not approve of the unilateral decision to bulldoze part of the White House, and a vote on this bill could be a good reminder of that before the election.
I am appalled that we need a bill like this, but we do, so please support it.
