This morning while walking to work I had a thought: is it possible that the reason why the perception of the #replyGuy problem being worse on #Mastodon (and the #Fediverse in general) is due to sheer (lack of) numbers?
So I came up with a simplified model to check if this was indeed sufficient to explain the phenomenon.
Let's assume that, similarly to Mario Cipolla's Basic Laws of Human Stupidity, the fraction of reply guys in a population is a given constant ρ.

Can you be a 'reply guy' if you're only guy-ish? In any case, I think I may have borderline reply guy disorder with latent boost goose tendancies* and I hope you folx (along with therapy and medication) will help keep me honest.

Just look at their replies & verify for yourself if you need to. I blocked them after seeing their nasty troll reply on Qasim's post about Iran being attacked. I didn't engage & chose to block after checking their #replyguy profile/replies previously posted.
