Meanwhile in New Zealand. A pakeke (sea lion) visits a takeaway shop in Dunedin. Staff did try to lure it out with a piece of fish, but this tactic was unsuccessful....

Dunedin has experienced another sea lion occupation, this time in a fish and chip shop in St Kilda. It was blocking their entrance so staff tried to tempt her outside with fish, but that didn't work.
“It just kind of lay there and didn’t really do much.”
There's a happy ending because DOC came and moved the animal.

Pacific Northwest, herds of #sealion rest onshore after the hunt, flopped on top of each other.
To protect sea lions, we need to protect the shores they depend on. You can help! Join a group working to save our shores.
One of the reasons why I love living in Dunedin.
A sea lion has made herself comfortable in the front porch of a house in St Clair today.
The occupant of the house got a fright of their life when they opened the door to go outside.
Amongst the darkness, a sea lion story will hopefully bring a smile.
A family in Saint Clair has had a heavily pregnant sea lion move into their front porch for the foreseeable future. They can't use the door for now.
