Does anyone has experience with replaceable battery-powered bicycle lights? For good reasons I don't want to use lights with glued-in lithium ion batteries...

I looked at an online shop, and the only options that I found was the "Cat Eye GVolt25C" and "AXA Niteline 35". They are supposed to be used with (non-rechargeable) alkaline AAA batteries, but I would very much prefer to use rechargeable batteries. Perhaps the light would just be a bit dimmer¹ with NiMH batteries (since they have a lower base voltage)? Usually I use the lowest brightness levels anyway, so perhaps NiMH voltage could suffice?

I could try NiZn batteries (which have a base voltage similar to alkaline batteries), or even AAA li-ion batteries (if this even is a thing), but I have no experience with them.

(1) My main use of the lamps should be to be seen (when I ride my bike that doesn't have a dynamo); I can see pretty well in dark light on the streets.

This! ^^^ and #waterproofing. They must shoot that #ad of people swimming and diving with their latest #shartPhone.

Oh and which phones are getting smaller? Over past several years all the thin #phones are designed to be so large they scarcely fit in a #pocket, slip out, and break, or bend.

We say revive #Minis. Its ironic but they had #replaceableBatteries too.

(In a somewhat related note, we abhor the push to remove #DVD Drives from #computers.)

Why We Need to Bring Back Removable Smartphone Batteries | Digital Trends

Smartphones have an astonishingly large carbon footprint, and most of it stems from the fact that they don't have swappable batteries anymore.
