I've been taking photographs just in case it's possible to see when they are parasitized by fairy wasps (Mymaridae). EntangledPearI might have a baby redbud ๐ฅน Unless it's a weed whose seed flew into the pot ๐ We'll have to wait and see (but it's in the middle, where I put the little bean, so it should be it).
In other news, it seems my (potted) wisteria probably froze this harsh winter. It was slow to start growing leaves last year, too, but I feel like it's too late at this point ๐

FINALLY, something new has popped out of the eastern redbud seeds that I've been monitoring for months. It's metallic green and small enough to be a hyperparasitoid, I think. Some Dinarmus (Pteromalidae) and Eurytoma (Eurytomidae) that emerged from my collection of eastern redbud seeds. Both are known parasitoids of the redbud seed weevil (Gibbobruchus mimus) but I'm hopeful that something unexpected will pop out one of these days.
