Folks, this #WeevilWednesday I am thrilled to announce that the hollyhock weevils (_Rhopalapion longirostre_) are back!! The females are the ones with the extremely long snouts, for drilling into hollyhock buds.

This mischievous little fellow tried to go exploring in my hair while we were hiking the Wiley Trails, so I gently removed xer and put xer on my leg to get a better look. I managed to get this picture, but xe didn't want to hang around and pose long enough for me to get really focused in.
Brown leaf weevil a.k.a. European snout beetle (Phyllobius oblongus):
This tiny beetle is hanging out on the flower of a starfruit tree. This is also done with my new DIY diffuser. Even though its very glossy, it works ok here. I have more to do though to make it at least slightly more diffuse.
