just the other day I finished watching rayearth, which is a thing I had missed at the time and then had never gotten around to watch, until now
I really liked the first part
it's neat how they depict the world slowly crumbling around them
and the ending of that first half was brilliant and some of the best stuff I watched all of 2024
but the 2nd part is kind of whatever, it expands the setting in ways it didn't really needed and overall it just dilutes everything that made the first half special
also for a clamp thing it surprised me how very... heteronormative it was lol
to be fair it's not that 100%, and sure those couples don't end up together but then again most nobody else does either
in any case it does seem like the 2nd half goes out of its way to pair everybody with somebody of the opposite sex
