What shouldn't be a hot take, I feel: is your hair clean? Is it physically safe for you and others to wear your hair like that? Yes? Then it's fine. Hairstyle, length, color, that is *a part of your body* and you should do what makes you comfortable and feel like yourself, and what keeps your hair and yourself protected.

Obviously there are exceptions - working around machinery, working in food service, wearing protective head gear, etc. But that should be the sole exception, where it may harm you or others.

Policing "ugly" or "unprofessional" styles is ridiculous social control and I don't think it's necessary, at all.
