I really like the idea of single purpose technology. I don't mean a coffee maker, I mean a computer that is *just* a word processor or just an editing station.
My old netbook/tablet has become my word making machine for school, I keep nothing installed except for Jolplin, VSCode, and Firefox (and SurgeXT for my midi keyboard heh) and it really helps keep the focus for school work. Plus I can pull up my notes really easy when I'm working on my more beefy laptop for an actual project!!
If you struggle with an ADHD like disability like I do, I highly recommend a setup like this. It's pretty easy to grab a no bells and whistles distro and get working! Just don't install Discord or Steam!!!!
My setup: Lenovo 300e running Fedora (base install) with LabWC. That's it. These things are dirt cheap on the used market. I keep it in tablet mode and use a physical KVM to move my mouse and keyboard over. Note scrolling and app menus are all touch screen so I can keep the KVM on my main system when I need to do a project that requires a beefier machine or I need to use a Windows VM. If I could do this without a GUI I would!

My parents are from New Jersey, but I always take the train through Oregon so I’m not sure? 🚂
There was no right on red in New Jersey either, which was good for #SafeDriving. I don’t know if they’ve changed that due to the pesky anti-safety lobby

One day I'll manage to install VM370 on an emulator.
Wish I had a paper copy of the docs, but they are either in museum, or are expensive, or just gone.
Also shipping to Russia costs an arm and a leg :c
