It closed in 1969 and was subsequently filled in using the remains of demolished Glasgow buildings, including the much-missed Saint Enoch Station and Hotel. In the 1980s, it became home to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, with these further buildings being added later.

The Armadillo and the Hydro Arena reflected in the still waters of the Clyde in Glasgow. Part of the Scottish Events Campus, they are built in the former Queen's Dock on the north bank of the Clyde. Originally called the Stobcross Dock, it was built in the 1870s.

If you've ever wondered what happened to the magnificent Saint Enoch Station and Hotel in Central Glasgow, it's now buried under these modern buildings on the Scottish Event Campus. This is because after it was knocked down in the 1970s, its remains were used to fill in the Queen's Dock, once one of the largest commercial docks in the city, so neatly disposing of two parts of Glasgow's history in one go.

The former Queen's Dock Hydraulic Power Station in Glasgow. Designed by J. Carrick for the Clyde Navigation Trust and built in the 1870s, it once contained steam engines to pressurise water so it could be used to power the swing bridge at the entrance to the dock and other machinery. The Italianate tower contained the accumulator tank used to hold the water prior to pressurisation.
