ICYMI: here’s Finding 2.0 from PyConUS 2025. It’s a hard talk, but one of hope and a few laughs in which we compare software versioning schemes to personal development. It took a catastrophe to find version 2.0, but it doesn’t have to. Hope you enjoy! #pyconus #pyconus2025
I just watched Cory Doctorow's excellent #pyconus2025 keynote: to my mind a powerful presentation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydVmzg_SJLw. Thosewho found it relevant might also like to reflect on Eric Sterling's 2012 #djangocon keynote https://pyvideo.org/djangocon-us-2012/djangocon-2012-keynote-eric-sterling.html.
It's interesting hearing warnings about today's malaise from 13 years ago, to some the generation of technologists that have helped to create it. It wasn't a popular keynote, IIRC.
This was our #rescue #dog Cookie greeting me upon my return from an awesome week at #pyconus2025 :)
(It's the stampy paws and the RROOWF that get me every time. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING LEAVING FOR A WHOLE WEEK? Don't do that again!)
I'm not exactly sure why I've been feeling shy about sharing the link to the recording of my #PyConUS talk, but I have been.
But I did thing! I gave the talk! And if you weren't able to hear it in person, well, gulp, um, here it is to view at your leisure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2bMpiztBxQ
As they say after #PyConUS, "Mind is empty, heart is full"
Leaving the Three Rivers on a rainy day. It's been a great PyCon this time around.
