There's a trans woman at this tech coworking space in SF wearing no-joke #ProgrammingSocks and it honestly makes me really happy for some reason to meet such an archetype.
I think it's because in our desire to fight harmful stereotypes, we make not fitting stereotypes into another site of self-policing / intracommunity judgement; and it's actually refreshing to see somebody visibly not playing that game. It's the only winning move.
