Somehow, at some point, #PrivacyPro got turned off. 😡
I didn't do it on purpose! Sometimes my phone thinks I need to, or it thinks I'm trying to, connect to a different #VPN. So I expect it got confused, tried to change to a different VPN that I don't have configured, and yeah. Whatever.
Now, at least I'm not getting flashy popup ads anymore, but I don't even know how many days my protection was off and how much data got out.
I'm so sick of the enshittification of the internet! I know someday we're all gonna be mad at the coiner of that word for some small reason and we won't ever be able to use it again -- because purity tests, and that's just how human beings roll these days 🙄.
I don't know how people can live with this shit, though. I know the "put the frog in cold water and boil it" analogy isn't actually true, but I sure feel like we're being squeezed into tighter and tighter corridors by data brokers, tech bros, and the completely mentally unhinged people who want to destroy our airspace (and astronomy) with too many satellites all the while spying on us while we're on our toilets.
They are gross, horrible, insecure, disgusting people. In fact, I really wish they didn't qualify as people. I have more sympathy ans empathy for mythical monsters than I do them.
I hate this timeline.
