Toyota proves sedans are far from dead, with strong sales from the Camry, Corolla, and even the Prius. While SUVs dominate, these models continue to attract buyers with reliability and efficiency. Demand shows that not everyone wants a crossover. Are sedans making a real comeback in todayβs market?

Very emotional incident no doubt but I wouldn't condemn the entire brand for a faulty battery.
All #EVs are susceptible to problems due to the failure of the "backup" 12v battery.
I had a #Prius that died because of that but entry into the car was much easier than in the Lyriq & I replaced the battery myself
The #VW id4 Pro that I lease sometimes goes "dormant" when I don't drive it for awhile.
The 1st time it happened, I used the "hidden" key to open the driver's side door thru a hidden key slot in the door latch. The car then "woke up" when I pressed the start button.
However, I later discovered that just pressing the rear hatch latch would wake up car w/o need for using the key but, of course, this would have done no good if the 12v backup battery was dead
Moral of the story: If you own or lease an EV, learn how to get into it if the main or backup batteries fail. π€·π»ββοΈ
Toyota is recalling about 141,000 units of the Toyota Prius and Toyota Prius Prime from 2023β2026. A faulty rear-door switch may short-circuit if water enters the seal, potentially causing the door to open while the car is unlocked. Owners will be notified by March 2026 and repairs will be performed free of charge. π

Agree. As an agnostic driver of my friend's Model Y (back before #DOGE) I concluded that the real genius of #Tesla was the charging network they built from scratch.
"I'm on my third #Prius and I had NO IDEA how robust the Tesla #charging network is. I felt like I was seeing a parallel universe for the first time. It's basically squirreled away in obscure parking lots and back alleys. This makes sense, using space that is otherwise underused and local businesses benefit because drivers have 20-60 min of time to kill while they charge.
For example, Green River #Utah, a town of less than 1000 off of I-70, has 8-12 supercharger stations in the parking lot of the John Wesley Powell River History Museum (worth a visit!). We pulled in, plugged in, went across the street to the Tamarisk Restaurant to eat dinner (nice place!), and by the time we were done the battery was full. We then drove on."

Yeah. The forced subscription walled garden ecosystem is a major reason why we skipped the #Chevy #EquinoxEV. As a #Michigan family tired of getting flack for owning a #Toyota #Prius, we had been excited for it for over a year.
But after delays and (loss/lack of) features announced we went with the #Hyundai #Ioniq5.
Got more crap for buying another foreign #car, but then found the stickers show the "foreign" Ioniq 5 has substantially higher percentage of #USA parts than the "domestic" Chevy.
