My thoughts on metadata use and reuse responsibilities in the context of the Barcelona Declaration:

1) open CRIS data has a lifespan usage/context responsibilities

2) machine created metadata shouldn't be shared (without explicitly taking ownership for the statements)

3) Rankings should be independent of datasource, utilising pids and open taxonomies to express rankings methodologies.

PIDs, Prague, and Participation:  Highlights from PIDfest 2024 - DataCite

PIDfest, jointly organized by NTK and ARDC, was held from June 11 -13 in Prague. The event brought together persistent identifier (PID) advocates, users, and leaders from around the world to solve real-world infrastructure challenges to accelerate research and innovation. DataCite was well represented during the event with presentations by our staff, members and partners. Here's a brief recap of the highlights from the program:

Connected in Prague - DataCite

On June 10, 2024, we hosted the DataCite Connect Prague event, collocated with PIDfest. We are happy that 40 community members joined us to discuss how we can collectively make the most of metadata. Bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders, the event facilitated presentations and offered space for lively discussions.
