A very interesting exhibition! Using only a few examples, source code is celebrated not as a means to produce, but also as a means to create, and/or convey messages.
Perhaps my favourite panel is the one showcasing #wenyan. There is a specific mention that source code carries a lot of cultural elements and preconceptions, and in itself is biased, i.e., mostly written by white men. So, I'm glad that fundamentally different programming languages are mentioned.

The Software Preservation Network (SPN) will be ending their activities in about a year. Thankfully, they will be taking the time to make sure the work done will not be lost.
Over the years, SPN has done great work to advance knowledge and capabilities towards software preservation. 💜
Still, it always comes backs to sustainability.

The « Software Source Code Exhbition », co-curated by Mathilde Fichen from @swheritage, is now on display at Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, the most prominent science museum in #Paris, France.

I’m still disappointed that they only considered *procedural* code, and desk-rejected *declarative* code. This is a sad editorial misunderstanding of what "source code" is :-(
