First #PianoLesson of the new year tomorrow and I’ve had a plan brewing in my brain all over christmas.

Before the break my student sent me a video of a country/blues song he’d heard while in the US visiting his son, which he discovered was made by AI releasing under the name “Breaking Rust”.
He was surprised by how “not like AI” it sounded.

So tomorrow we’re going to talk about all the musical devices the AI used to create the track - blues scales, the minimal stomp clap rhythm, call and response and the (albeit minimal) chord progression etc.
Then maybe guide him towards making his own piece. I’m really looking forward to it!
