TIL. Karplus-Strong physical modelling synthesis. Fascinating; and I thought I had heard it all. And some unlikely synthesizers can do it, almost by accident, such as the #Korg #opsix.

The last few days I've been building some instruments for myself using the Gutter Synthesis algorithm by Tom Mudd, ported and reworked a bit by me and Scott Carver, and I have to say, it's a wild and fun and unpredictable thing.
