Un #phalanstère est un regroupement organique des éléments considérés nécessaires à la vie harmonieuse d'une communauté appelée #phalange.

P.ex., un ensemble de logements organisés autour d'une cour couverte centrale, lieu de vie communautaire, ou un kibboutz israélien.

Le concept, très en faveur dans les milieux intellectuels au XIXᵉ siècle, fut élaboré par #CharlesFourier et promu par des industriels idéalistes comme Jean-Baptiste André #Godin qui fut notamment à l'origine du #familistère de #Guise

Georgina s'est rebellée contre la société lorsqu'elle a compris que ses parents l'avaient affublé d'un prénom désuet. "Whaaaat ???" s'est-elle écriée. Elle a alors quitté le domicile familial, s'est teint les cheveux en rose, s'est coupée une frange à l'aide d'un sécateur de jardinage, s'est fait poser un piercing dans la narine, puis un dans l'oreille, et s'est fait tatouer "Pink Pouf" sur les phalanges. Mais elle s'appelle toujours Georgina.

#Sabra and #Shatila massacre: What happened in #Lebanon in 1982?

#Israeli-backed #Phalange militia killed between 2,000 and 3,500 #Palestinian refugees and #Lebanese civilians in two days.

The refugees were victims of the 1948 #Nakba, or “catastrophe” in Arabic, fleeing the violent ethnic cleansing of #Palestine by #Zionist militias as #Israel was formed.

Key points:

- Between September 16 and 18, 1982, the refugees, now living in Shatila and Sabra, along with Lebanese civilians, were attacked by a right-wing Lebanese militia, in coordination with the Israeli army. Between 2,000 and 3,500 people were killed.

- Israeli forces, led by then-Defence Minister #ArielSharon, invaded #Lebanon in June 1982, laid siege to Beirut and heavily bombarded the city, where the PLO headquarters were located.

- The #UnitedNations General Assembly passed a resolution declaring the massacre an “act of #genocide.

- The Sabra and Shatila massacre is remembered as one of the most traumatic events in Palestinian history and its memory is commemorated annually by Palestinians in Lebanon and in Palestine.

- In February 1983, the UN commission found that “Israeli authorities or forces were involved, directly or indirectly in the [Sabra and Shatila] massacres”.
