PFL fighter Fabricio Werdum plays ‘Call of Duty: Warzone’ everyday

Currently signed with the Professional Fighters League, Fabricio “Vai Cavalo” Werdum, 43, of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil is not only a mixed martial arts veteran. He is also a gamer.

On May 3, 2021, I asked Werdum about the things he enjoys doing if he is not training or fighting. The Brazilian MMA fighter revealed that he plays “Call of Duty: Warzone.”

Published by Activision, “Call of Duty: Warzone” is a free-to-play battle royale video game developed by Infinity Ward, Raven Software, Treyarch and Beenox. Plunder, Resurgence and Battle Royale are the three main modes of the game, which features both cross-platform progression and cross-platform play between three games.

The game allows online multiplayer combat among 150 players. Some limited-time game modes support 200 players.

“Call of Duty: Warzone” was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on March 10, 2020. The game had surpassed 100 million active players, Activision announced in April 2021.

On May 6, 2021, Werdum will make his PFL debut at “PFL 3: 2021 Regular Reason” at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey, United States. The main event of the evening is a heavyweight match between him and Renan “Problema” Ferreira, 31, of Santa Terez de Goias, Brazil.

Both Werdum and Ferreira are coming out of a submission victory. However, the former told me that their fighting styles are very different.

Competing professionally since 2013, Ferreira currently holds a professional MMA record of 6 wins and 2 losses. He is also making his PFL debut at “PFL 3: 2021 Regular Reason.”

Werdum made his professional MMA debut in 2002 and fought in the Ultimate Fighting Championship between 2007 and 2020. He now has 24 wins, 9 losses and 1 draw.

Ferreira went on hiatus in 2020. Werdum had 1 win and 1 loss in the UFC last year.
