Two #gospel readings this week! John 3:1-17 (Jesus has a night meeting with #nicodemus and discusses what it means to be #BornAgain from #Heaven) and Matthew 17:1-9 ( Jesus and #elijah and #Moses hang at the #Transfiguration redux... we had this #pericope a couple weeks ago)

For the #proper02 #christmas reading, I can't help but think about how #israel was OCCUPIED TERRITORY as they AWAITED the promised redeemer / king. #Jerusalem posted sentinels & hoped their grain wouldn't be stolen by the occupiers (Isaiah 62:6-12)... The #LORD is king, especially over the foreign/ #pagan gods. (Psalm 97) ...
