"I pray not only for these, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me."
The prophet Hosea was commanded by God to marry Gomer, a woman who would prove unfaithful, and despite her repeated acts of adultery and abandonment, God further instructed him to pursue her, buy her back from her lovers, and reconcile with her, using Hosea's painful marriage as a living parable to illustrate God's own enduring love and commitment to His idolatrous & unfaithful people, Israel
