Finally got ahold of some Chinese-grown Coffee recently, specifically from Menglian County, Yunnan.

Will it be replacing Yirgacheffe in the rotation? Most likely not, but still it was a pleasant drink.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm not brewing the coffee properly or if my palate is just not sophisticated and sensitive enough because I can never really get the suggested tasting notes.

I was told green peppercorn, pear and malty. I mean maybe I can vaguely taste the green peppercorn . There's no reason to bullshit, I'm not in front of the barista, so there's no need to appear educated on coffee.
