Free Knowledge InstituteWe just got confirmation from the Dutch Tax Authorities that the Free Knowledge Institute has acquired the so-called ANBI status: Public Benefit Organisation in Dutch!
We wanted that status so our donors can obtain tax relief. This is first of all important for Dutch residents, who can claim donations back in their income tax declaration.
But also residents in other, especially EU countries, may obtain tax benefits, as the EU tax rules stipulate equal treatment and non-discrimination in this aspect. However, paperwork might be required.
We work with interested parties to make that process easier.
