In preparation for picking it up I picked up a couple misc tapes of my own just so I could test it too… found a sealed copy of Cats (rofl. And never watched it but it was all the rage there for awhile… I guess I’ll finally submit myself to it). Balto too bc need that refresher / reminder on furry bait. (And it was there on the shop for 99¢ lol).

Easing into this morning with some 1980s Danish rock I found while thrifting.
I was resolved to the usual stinky gospel, folk, and what ever Jim Nabors is when I spotted album covers in surprisingly good shape (for Goodwill). A few google image searches later and there were in my pile.
I don't know if my new favorite song is here. But I had no idea there was a rock revolution in Denmark. And for learning more about that story alone these were worth the price.
Did they call the wedding off, or did they both die during the divorce after the chandelier cable snapped?
Either way, thanks to them, I now have a thrift-store-fresh copy of Betty Crocker’s Cookbook — Bridal Edition.
I finished the dress today 🎉 I’m very happy - it’s practical and comfortable to wear. It also looks pretty good for something made from someone else’s unwanted fabric!
I used snap fastenings for the front closure, mostly because I already had some and didn’t have any suitable buttons. I can add those later maybe.
Now I need to get some woolly tights to wear with it over winter 😆
Found this beauty from 1969 in shrink for $2 at the thrift the other day. What a fantastic voice, and really fun arrangements. Need I even mention the Beatles covers?

I had a successful trip to the thrift stores (charity shops).
I managed to get a few things!
- Two pastel pink-covered pillows for the sofa (they're in the washer)
- washi tape for art
- a watercolour book with a new and interesting technique
- two bags of buttons for more art
- a dress made of fully sustainable cotton (citation needed)
- and the sainted spurtle!
I am a happy Book today. Lots of promise and cute things.

I came across a bread recipe online the other day that recommends #baking the loaves in glass #Pyrex bowls. I have tried my hand at baking bread a few times before but never in glass bowls, and I didn't own any oven-safe ones.
Yesterday, I went to my local thrift store, and sure enough I found not one but two liter-size Pyrex bowls for 99 Cents each. Exactly what the recipe called for. This is a sign from the universe telling me to attempt this peasant bread.
Fun fact, I just watched a YouTube video about how #thrifting got ruined by resellers, and apparently Pyrex is one of the things they go for. Who knew!

So this is one reason I really really really love thrifting for music and won't ever stop.
The Jones Brothers & The Log Cabin Boys are pretty important Bluegrass musicians out of North Carolina, and they have dozens of releases on LP, 45, and cassette in their Discogs discography.
But, much to my surprise, neither group appeared on any documented Compact Disc (in Discogs, anyway).
So I got to add this disc to the database, and now the world knows that some of these songs did, in fact, make it onto CD. That's a real pleasure for me.
Anyone have something similar they take great enjoyment in, even if it's not specifically thrifting music that might or might not end up being important?
