Fedilab AppsThe source code of #PawFed is now available on #Codeberg. PawFed is a federated map for animal welfare: reports come from the #Fediverse via #ActivityPub mentions, and permanent places like shelters and vets are pulled from OpenStreetMap.
A location is not always required: if you have supplies or food to give away and can ship, just say so.
Found an abandoned animal? Just report it.

To make things clearer with #PawFed, a new page has been added. It shows how to build a message and lets you test it live. Translations are directly used for detection.

Sobald der Beitrag überprüft und freigegeben wurde, ist er für alle sichtbar.

Ein vermisster Hund, eine verletzte Katze, eine Futterspende – beschreibe mit deinen eigenen Worten, was passiert ist.
Füge Hashtags hinzu
Verwende Hashtags, um das Tier und die Situation zu beschreiben: #Katze, #Hund, #verloren, #gefunden, #Tierheim, #Futter…
Gib den Ort an
Schreibe die Adresse oder den Namen der Stadt in deinen Beitrag. Du kannst auch #Stadt:Lyon oder #Land:FR verwenden, um den Ort genauer anzugeben.
Füge ein Foto hinzu
Optional, aber sehr nützlich: Ein Foto hilft anderen, das Tier zu identifizieren und ihm zu helfen.
Überprüfe den Standort
PawFed sendet dir eine private Nachricht mit einem Link, um den ermittelten Standort zu überprüfen. Falls dieser falsch ist, tippe auf den richtigen Punkt auf der Karte, kopiere den generierten Text und antworte auf die Nachricht.

#PawFed is not limited to reports about animals found or in distress. You can use it to offer help or ask for it.
Use #offer when you provide help, #request when you need it, #info to share useful information.
Everything works through #ActivityPub. If you delete your original post mentioning @PawFed, the related report is automatically removed from the map. No database ghost. You stay in control of your data. (1/3)
#PawFed is a project close to my heart. It's a collaborative map for animal welfare that bridges the #Fediverse and #OpenStreetMap.
The idea: mention @PawFed from your Mastodon account with hashtags and a location, and your report appears on the map. No signup, no app, just your existing Fediverse account.
It's not perfect yet, but the foundation is there. I will publish the source code soon under AGPL.
