Some may recall my earlier post about being able to successfully parallel park on the first attempt and having lots of practice in large metropolitan cities. Whether Iβm driving a small compact car or an SUV.
It appears that my skill in parallel parking does not transfer to being able to successfully pull into a regular parking spot. This one was on an angle. Itβs even worse when itβs a straight-in parking spot like you see at the mall or grocery store, etc. ππ«£
Why is it that I can nail parallel parking in reverse on the first try, but totally misjudge pulling into a regular parking lot spot? I can figure out the angle and length of a curbside space just fine, but somehow get it wrong in a parking lot. π
I think itβs because Dad taught me to back into parking spots, driveways, etc if I could because in the snow belt of Upper Michigan, pulling out is much easier than backing out, especially in a front wheel drive vehicle in the snow.
