@tabcreations.com That's one of my favorite lessons from Dogs in the Vineyard. The game always wants a GM to clearly state both what the conflict is (when it starts, escalations are the core) and what the stakes are for winning, losing, and surrendering.

Of course, I also appreciate that #ParanoiaRPG (2e & XP at least) call out that the players should never know the outcome of their actions.

Oh, I never explained to you how our #paranoiarpg game session ended last week.

So! our troubleshooters had to protect the robot known as Mark4 from (probalby) communist traitors. They saved it successfully from a cleaning bot, it was very brave from their part and (almost) no destruction happened.

Then, some very serious and totally legit maintenance people arrived. They let them pass inside Mark4 and then... well, chaos.
