We actually do have Spring in the desert. Desert native Palo Verde trees have green trunks and branches, with feathery leaves. This time of year they're covered with tiny yellow flowers. There is a grove of them on our community's exit drive, making a bright yellow understory for the palms.

Of the 6 Queen Butterfly chrysalises we’ve seen in our yard this year 5 have been green but 1 was white! The butterfly emerged & flew off apparently healthy just like the others! 😃 Here’s my Perpetual Journal art of the white chrysalis.
