I think I found an important counter-balance in this current arc of this year's practice.
In as much as I must drink great droughts of method and data for the science of applied ecological support, so will expanding and deepening my #yoga practice (expanding into breath and a somatic-first perspective of vocal components) aid in communing with the simple, but infinitely valuable, incidental details of my immediate environment: the plots I'm working with, the swaths of land that I spend time on.
It is that Observing mind and Centered breath -- counting a breath that is happening instead of accomplishing the breath-task to satisfy a sequential count -- that is the portal of exploration for me right now.
There is a switch there.
I am understanding I will have to recover my heart from it's hiding places and protective curses if I am going to experience my environment again in the spiritually rich way I once had and crave yet.
The books and the data jingle like keys, but the hallway of hallways, with all it's curious doors, is in the kingdom and it's dreams.
There are the songs of the angels of earth, and then the murmmerations of its live churning.
