Noticed how The Alameda becomes Martin Luther King Jr. Way in the middle of the 1200 block. No territorial lines crossed, just a street sign to mark the transition with both sides in Berkeley. Doesn't even face traffic; it's parallel to the street. Odd they didn't extend the MLK designation to the north.

It's interesting. I have an old sci-fi novel from the 1940s that has a Christopher who has the hypocoristic "Kit". But I've never heard anyone use that in real life. They've all been "Chris".

I wonder when it went out of fashion.
