This year in addition to @fsf, @eff, @wikimediafoundation, non-profit music spaces and animal rescue orgs that aren't on Mastodon, I added #NYCACC (Animal Control Centers) to the list. Initial intake orgs are sad places to visit but do incredibly important rescue work, serving as a distribution for adoption orgs. Nearly all our animals came thru the ACC.

Alfamia@Pfeifferpack hey Kathleen “waves” :) - doesn’t look like there has been much activity here on the Mastodon regarding #NYCACC yet. Hopefully things don’t go fully south on the bird. Networking for the animals would sure take a hit otherwise. Just wanted to say “hi”! Glad that I found you.
Exhaust_FumesAnd before that Sparkle. The first two were adopted after four and three months, respectively. I miss them both a bit, but easier than saying bye to Memo, knowing they have happy days ahead in new homes. I hope it helps me learn how to let go & deal with liss and change. But mostly I just love #cats & happy to have a visitor when #NYCACC has limited space.
